A Life-Long Commencement

Today is J-37 (J for jour); 37 days before I leave for France on September 19th, and I have only today sat down to begin this creation. It started with this lefthand picture on July 8th (one month, four days ago).

"Why not start a countdown journal of our time together?" I suggested after the click. Lindsay unknowingly agreed to the proposition.

So I started taking photos with obnoxious alacrity, and Lindsay learned to duck and cover whenever it seemed as though I were about to pull my Canon out to shoot.

Lindsay and I met at Maria Regina Catholic School sometime in November or December. We had our first "non-date" (a misnomer) on April 7th, La Misma Luna. Ever since then we have become like mortar and pestle. This journal will capture the days we have to spend with one another before a 7 month physical separation. We pray that a continent and ocean will not succeed at keeping us far apart.

I think maybe some rumination on the matter of time is appropriate here.
